Birmingham’s property and construction sector donates hundreds of gifts this Christmas
Real estate professionals across Birmingham and the West Midlands have donated hundreds of gifts for vulnerable or disadvantaged children at Property for Kids’ (PFK) annual Snowball.
There were more than 500 attendees at the charity fundraiser, with each guest bringing at least one gift, and hundreds donated by companies.
The annual event is held at The Jam House in St Paul’s Square, and this year featured live music from Hot Property and The Deconstructed; bands made up of members all working in the property and construction industry.
This year’s event was sponsored by Edmond Shipway/Naismiths, ESC, GMI Construction, McCarthys, MFG Solicitors, O’Brien Contractors, Overbury, Ridge and Partners LLP and Willmott Dixon.
Presents were donated in a bid to ensure every child across Birmingham has something to open on Christmas Day. These gifts are distributed by Birmingham & Solihull Women’s Aid (BSWA) through its regional network of drop-in centres and refuge accommodation.
Emma Cosgrove of Barques, who also sits on the PFK committee, said: “It was a pleasure to organise the Snowball again this year. It is a highly anticipated event in the region’s property calendar, bringing people together and doing something good for the wider community. We couldn’t do it without the support from the sector, both in terms of sponsorship and the number of gifts that are generously donated.”
PFK has distributed hundreds of thousands of pounds to more than 50 different children’s charities since its inception in the 1980s, supporting local good causes with the provision of useful assets including a safe playground, a minibus and specialist equipment.
